We are looking to recruit new Team Managers and Assistants for the Women’s Senior and Development XIII’s

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring managers to work in a high-profile, competitive and positive team environment. Working with both Military and Civilian organisations the team managers are responsible for the day to day administration of the team and coaching staff. The applicant should understand the modern Rugby League structures and core skills.

Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience - Essential/Desirable

  • Strong management and organisational skills - Essential
  • Hold or able to obtain a DBS - Essential
  • Be released from work to attend all training/fixtures - Essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills allied to an outgoing, confident, and positive personality, allowing meaningful and effective relationships to be built at all levels – Essential
  • A willingness to improve through CPD - Essential
  • Passionate about sport and increasing participation – Essential
  • Experience in Rugby League – Desirable
  • An understanding of sports nutrition and science - Desirable
  • Pitchside first aid qualified – Desirable

TERMS OF REFERENCE
ARMY RUGBY LEAGUE - TEAM MANAGERS

1. Team managers (1st XII, Dev XIII, Women XII, Women’s Dev XIII & Masters,) will be responsible for all aspects of administration of their respective teams. They will be responsible for all communication with players about availability and selection (subject to the policy laid down). The team managers, in conjunction with the coaching staff, will produce a costed plan for the season. Once the plan is endorsed and budgeted by the ARL-EC the team managers will be responsible for managing that said budget.

2. Team managers responsibilities include:

a. Manage & administer the ARL team to the best of their skill and ability.

b. Manage all off-field matters.

c. Manage & administer the coaching programme throughout the season.

d. Manage a fitness and development programme for their respective squad in conjunction with the conditioning coach prior to the commencement of and during the season for each year during the term.

e. Manage the ARL team to standards designed to ensure that the team and each member thereof plays to its full potential and is well-organised and disciplined both and off the field.

f. Identify talent and potential for the senior ARL team squad members throughout the season in each calendar year during the term through observing rugby matches and liaising with coaching staff.

g. Attend such seminars and briefing sessions as may be arranged or organised by ARL from time to time.

h. The ARL team manager and his other coaching/management staff will submit to regular/periodic coaching/management mentoring and appraisal programme conducted by appropriately professional and appropriately qualified staff.

i. The Team Manager is accountable to the Team Secretary.
