We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Coach for the Men’s Development XIII

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring coaches to develop their coaching skill set in a high-profile, competitive and positive team environment. The applicant should understand the modern Rugby League structures and core skills.

Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience - Essential/Desirable

  • Level 2 qualification, with experience in Rugby League – Essential
  • Show an understanding of game analysis - Essential
  • Hold or able to obtain a DBS - Essential
  • Be released from work to attend all training/fixtures - Essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills allied to an outgoing, confident, and positive personality, allowing meaningful and effective relationships to be built at all levels – Essential
  • A willingness to improve through CPD - Essential
  • Passionate about sport and increasing participation – Essential
  • An understanding of sports nutrition and science - Desirable
  • Pitchside first aid qualified – Desirable

ARMY RUGBY LEAGUE – DEVELOPMENT TEAM ASSISTANT COACH

1. The assistant coach will hold a minimum of a Level 2 coaching certificate and be responsible for assisting the Development Team Head Coach.
2. The assistant coach will work directly with the head coach to select and prepare the team for matches. They will be involved in all aspects of on field activity for the Development XIII. They will also be responsible for:
a. Supporting the Head Coach to select and prepare the team for matches.
b. Planning & preparation of training sessions and activities as per Head Coaches instruction.
c. Deliver effective & Progressive sessions throughout the program agreed with Head Coach.
d. Assist in producing and controlling the coaching and conditioning programme throughout the season.
e. Assist in co-ordinating and conducting a fitness and development programme for the squad in conjunction with the conditioning coach prior to the commencement of and during the season.
f. Assist in identifying talent and potential for the ARL senior squad throughout the season and in each calendar year during the term through observing Rugby matches and liaising with the coaches network throughout the Army.
